Our Tree

We've had our CHRISTmas tree up for quite some time now.
and were not very good with decorations, so its pretty simple, as far as Christmas trees go.
and its artificial so there's that,
I've always wanted a real tree, just once, but it hasn't happened yet, I'm hoping that it will one day.
You can see our stockings there also, behind the tree since we don't have a fireplace and Dad is afraid to hang stuff around our gas heater because its a fire hazard.
Our Christmas cards are in there too, my Mom crocheted this long festive colored yarn and punched holes in them and that's what they are hanging on.
When I was a kid, one Christmas my Aunt Cathy made me a little book that I have to put under the tree every year, because its so lovely. I do it in remembrance of her.
I want to wish everyone out there who celebrates Christmas.
The Merriest CHRISTmas ever.
and on another note, why can't I get the song Rocket Man outta my head?
ya'll know what I'm saying?

All the Pretty Things

Um kay
This week, the week before the week that contains the Christmas holiday.
I have encountered alot of materialistic people.
And I've got to say that if the generation below mine, is going to run the country after us, I want to die before they get in power.
It surprised me to know how many kids are asking for such expensive gifts from their parents, and basically threatening their parents, to buy expensive things for them!
Do they know how bad the economy is? Probably not, or they wouldn't be asking for such expensive gifts.
Lots of kids just see "The Pretty Things" and they don't see their parents distress...
Maybe I'm the only one who sees, I don't know...
But when I look around and see these kids, leading their parents by the collar,
or saying things like, "If you don't buy this for me you must not love me" and I'm thinking how spoiled are you?
It really just disturbs me.
We need to respect our parents, they know a lot more than us.
and believe it or not, you don't need the latest gizmo to have friends, and IF that is why you have friends.
Then you really need to sort through your friends list and narrow them down to who is really there for you, and who's there to see your new Ipad 2.
Think about it.
I don't ever want to just see "All The Pretty Things" and not see my parent's distress to want to buy these things for me, but cant because they can't afford them.
Wondering at the moment if their is anyone else out there who feels the same way.

The Polar Express Happenings

My sister and I watched my favorite Christmas Movie, last night, "The Polar Express"!

The thing that makes the movie special is that I only watch it once a year. Once, no more, no less.
I NEVER watch it through out the year, only at Christmas Time.
I wont participate in watching it at any other time, because I don't want to wear it out, I want to see it like I'm seeing it the first time, every time I watch it.
Tom Hanks knows how to tickle my funny bone.
I love the Hot Chocolate scene.
Plus those tiny elves are pretty rad, too.
My sister loves their voices.
This is what I did during the movie.

Sorry about the hair, It was late and I had the Friz Biz.
